My story
I started playing drums at the age of 11 at school, I started playing snare drum under the supervision of the music teacher who initially gave me a square piece of wood that 15” x 15” with some rubber on it and I would sit in my bedroom or hours learning rudiments such as paradiddles, triplets and a buzz roll which remain fundamental skills for drummers and percussionists to this very day!

I eventually convinced my parents to buy me my first set of drums; they were almost like toy drums; I was tall then at 11 so my knees were almost up around my head …lol. I played them in the garage annoying my neighbours, thinking back it was a good time.

It was around this time that I made it into my High School brass band, alongside 40 or so other musicians that played saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, I played kettle drums, also known as timpani as both snare drums were taken, one of the snare drums was played by Chippy one of my best mates, Chippy & I still talk drums and share videos of drummers each week
